Wine Club at Dalling
A Wine Club for our neighbours. If you live in, or around, Kings Langley we’d love to bring you some wine.
The long as the short is that this wine club is for you - so it’s entirely in your control.
You can have as many or as few bottles as you’d like delivered once a month, complete with tasting notes and an update from us on your exclusive promotions.
You can adjust, pause or cancel the club any time with no questions asked and no retentions department tying up your time.
We handle the deliveries from the shop, so no need to worry about couriers slinging your bottles over the fence. Our delivery boy, Jeff*, is Canadian and will deliver in all weather with a smile.
*better known as our loudest owner.

We really mean it when we say as many or as few bottles as you’d like. From one to one hundred, we’ll make it happen.
-
You can do this at your convenience through the club portal or you can send us instructions with what to do by email to info@dallingandco.com
We don’t have a retentions department so you’ll never be pressured into doing anything, nor have your time wasted.

Most wine clubs rely on being able to carry out national fulfillment and therefore either a courier service or utilising a distributed fleet to get their deliveries out. This is expensive, so they need a minimum order volume to make it worthwhile.
We are lazy. We, quite frankly, can’t be bothered with the faff of calculating the viable minimum order and we don’t want to pass on the cost of all of the integrated gubbins that automates the shipping process to you.
What we do have is a van, a reasonably good work ethic and a clean(ish) bill of health. Keeping deliveries local means we’ll likely be driving or cycling past your door anyway.
Most clubs are also easy to cancel or suspend, but not many allow you to control the finer details of your box because there are set products and partnerships and promotions and performance tracking and… well, we’re not big enough to need to worry about that. We thought that your box means you should be in control.

An annual members-only Walkaround Wine Tasting, entry into our Quarterly Bottle Raffle, samples of new deli products, advance notice of wine tastings and new wines, ad hoc discounts on new products, events and bin ends that nobody else will see, and whatever else we can think of to thank you for letting us share our love of wine with you.
Maybe a supplier has given us some cheese-knives or wine glasses with an order of a product - it might not be every month, but when it happens we’ll randomly draw a member of the club from a digital hat to receive these goodies.
-
The only reason we don’t have a larger area is so that we don’t have to charge out club members any kind of shipping fee. Doing these deliveries ourselves on one day in a small area is incredibly efficient and means we don’t need to pass on any fulfillment. If you live outside the area we’ll need to make an additional charge at cost of delivery and packaging. Depending on where you are and how many bottles you’d like this can range from £7.95 to £17.95.
-
Tell us and we’ll do a swap for a new bottle or offer a refund if not possible. All we need is to collect the remnants of the bottle so that we can submit the lot number and the type of suspected fault to our supplier so that they can track any issues with the batch.
Please never feel embarassed or awkward about returning a bottle - we know faults happen and there’s a system in place to make sure that nobody in the chain of supply loses out.
It is worth noting that if you have a corked bottle from any retailer as long as you return the bottle they are able to recoup the cost of that bottle from their supplier.

Generally speaking, all wine club bottles are intended to drink now or within 12 months at most. We may advise a longer drinking window on certain bottles, but this is subject to proper storage in a cool, consistent location such as a wine fridge held at 13 celsius. In no uncertain terms, this risk is assumed by you and not in our control. As such, we will not be able to accept any liability for the condition of your bottles.
Sounds fair?
As a reminder, we will always refund or replace bottle faults incurred, (but unknowable), before delivery.
We cannot justify replacements or refunds on wine that has been held onto by you until it is out of condition. It isn’t reasonable to expect a refund or replacement for a 3 year old bottle of rosé that should have been drank two summers ago at most, nor any bottle where the cork has been allowed to dry out after we have delivered it. We cannot be expected to be held responsible for this. However, we can absolutely refund a bottle from 3 or more years ago that has cork taint so long as the remainder of the bottle is returned to us.

This wine club is for people looking for a little adventure. If you’re worried about encountering different styles and regions or you’re looking for your usual suspects it might be best to shop a la carte.
While we always do our best to put interesting wines in the box, but we also make sure to keep them broadly acessible.
We don’t select white wines that are heavily oaked, unfiltered, sweet or orange without a thumbs up from you.
We also don’t choose natural wines as there’s a higher risk of bottle faults. We may choose wines with less intervention, but we’re not fond of the weird and prefer the wonderful.
If you have very specific needs, or you’re not willing to try something new, it’s best that you come in and try some wine with us in-store.

A little. There’s not much money for us in a bottle of wine, but by limiting our deliveries to one day a week in our local community the delivery process becomes much more efficient.
Besides, if we were interested in making lots of money we’d be doing something with better margins and less tax than bricks and mortar wine retail!

Not at the moment, but let’s talk!

We once had a noise complaint from our cousins in Australia.
